Fundamental Instruction for Transitioning

“Study to show thyself approved unto God..." (2 Timothy 2:15)

Confirm Your Calling as a Jubilee Age Contender - Luke 4:18-20

What is an Eber?

And those faithful Nazarenes, bearing compassionate concern for their fellow Israelites, exhorted others to crossover to faith in Messiah and commit fully to "the good way" also. Therefore, as the early contenders did, we must now learn to love our Elohim's ancient Torah paths and closely adhere to all those that are applicable. Such is not legalism at all. Rather, humble compliance to divine instructions is the foremost biblical expression of un-compromised faith. Further, obedience refreshes faith and sustains spiritual vitality! Western saints who "go over to another side," the Hebraic side of faith, become an eber -- a crossover. Eber is a Hebrew word that means to cross over or pass through. Today, an eber would be a person who, under Elohim's direction, leaves his or her old lifestyle or Torah-less religion behind and "crosses over" to the Father's prescribed Torah paths and walks in them. This is Yahweh's counsel for today's spiritually deflated believers that can put them on the ancient paths leading to greater spiritual clarity, peace, and friendship-fellowship with Messiah. Deuteronomy 28: 1-12; Romans 8:16-17. This is the summons of our Good Shepherd. Psalm 23. As it is written: 'When you turn to the right or turn to the left, you will hear his voice behind you to guide you, saying 'This is the right path; follow it' " (Isa 30:21). Have you heard His still small voice?  You will. 1 Kings 17:45; 19:22; Ps. 85:8.

 Part Two    1.5 Minutes

Moreover, such willing compliance constitutes the faith of the first ebers, Abraham and Sarah. Probably beset by the Mesopotamian ungodly culture, Abraham heard and followed the instructions given to him personally by the only true Elohim, Yahweh--Creator of heaven and earth, and everything therein. He was commanded to depart from his home and journey to an unknown land called Canaan. Once he and Sarah left Haran of Mesopotamia and crossed over into Canaan, according to Yahweh's precise instructions, they remained there and never returned to their old habitat. Hence, Abraham and Sarah were the first post-diluvian ebers, or Hebrews. They were committed to trusting the covenant promises made to them by Yahweh and hence closely followed His directions...and the world has been blessed by them doing so. They are our inspiration. You and I became ebers when we crossed over from the satanic kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light through faith in Messiah Yeshua. We became ebers again, so to speak, when we crossed over from Torah-less faith to the apostolic, Nazarene faith "once for all delivered to the saints" (Jude 1:3). Be confident of this, blessed reader--heartfelt conformance to His Law--all applicable and doable instructions, united with prayer and Scripture study, are the chief means by which you and I will (a) find peace and joy for our souls, (b) bear much fruit in life, and (c) acquire intimate fellowship and visionary partnership with our Savior by the Communion of the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14. This is very good! You will do well, valiant saint, as an eber emulating obedient Abraham on the "narrow road" of pilgrimage that leads to the resurrection of the righteous and the crown of life. James 1:12. As you go forward in your faith, hold to His assurances. Here's one for you: "Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble" (Psalm 119:165). This is the "Good Way" of transformation to which disciples of the Savior are being summoned. Are you an Eber?  Selah.

Six Points

1. What is an Eber School 2. Four Exhortations and Goal 3. Emphasis 4. School Curriculum 5. Seven Questions  6. Enrollment Procedure

First: The earthly life of the servant of Yeshua can be called "a long journey through a trying wilderness (Acts 14:22). Like Israelites of old in the desert, we are marching on towards our own promised glory land in full certainty that at the other side of the Jordan lies a land flowing with milk and honey. Instead of a literal desert however, we are trekking  through the devil's world, where the snakes, scorpions, hardships, and ambushes aften take on more subtle forms. But despite the difficulties, we can enjoy the journey [prosper as over-comers] living day by day in the light of our eternal future, confident in God's provision for us throughout the short time of our sojourning here in enemy territory, and looking forward with biblical assurances toward that future day of resurrection and reward."  [1A]

Second: From the moment we turn away from the hollow  manner of life handed down from generation to generation (1 Peter 1:18) and turn instead to the living God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, we are reconciled to Him, and at the same time alienated from the corrupted world. There can be no middle ground. Either we are friends (true servants and disciples Yeshua, or friends (servants) of the world's dark systems (James 4:4).  [1B]

Third: We live in the latter days and in a corrupted nation. You, dear reader, are His servant.  PREPARE !

Point 1: What is an Eber School?

The Eber School is an educational establishment. One usually begins with an organized association of persons--many or few, who are engaged in a common academic pursuit.....where everyday people can regularly gather to study and learn. Messianic Homes in Revival are ideal venues. Thus, Contenders Voice endorses the Book of Acts home meeting protocol. It is written of the New Testament Nazarene believers that they continued "...daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house" (Acts 2:46) where they continued in the Apostles' doctrine, prayer, and fellowship. (see verse 42). For the ealty Nazarene followers of Messiah Yeshua the house was the primary plaxce of daily teaching aposrtolic doctrine. The synagogue was the chief teaching venue for the Sabbath.

Point 2: Four Exhortations

 # 1  That which is first mentioned in Scripture establishes a precedent.  1 Minute

Let's look for a moment at the early gatherings of the New Covenant Nazarene believers following the ascension of Yeshua. It is written: "...they were breaking bread from house to house..." (see Acts 2:46-47).  In Acts 3:42 we read: "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine [teaching] and fellowship, and in breaking bread and with prayers."  Reverence for the risen Messiah was accompanied by sign and wonders which manifested through the ministry of the Holy Spirit--in the informal settings. Thus we  learn that the disciples of Messiah, with the converts, regularly spent time together at the Temple and also in their homes. Permission or approval from the synagogue officials or Roman magistrates was not sought or required.

# 2 Follow the Book of Acts Precedent--Torah and the holy Spirit    1 Minute

Likewise, believers today in America--at least for the time being, can establish and operate small colleges or schools in their private homes or other chosen venues without the certification, accreditation, or sanction of an education authority. Dear reader, your college charter is granted by the Book of Acts--YHVH's inspired Holy Writ. Establish Yeshua as your College President and the Holy Spirit as your Dean of Doctrinal Studies and Faith Practices. You are the facilitator and teacher. The pattern set long ago remains a viable option today. Go for it! Everyone will be enriched by the exciting commitment.

 # 3  Open an Eber in your messianic revival home.    1 Minute

This endeavor is a significant and spiritually profitable undertaking. Be a spiritual reformation pioneer in the Hebraic recovery movement. Begin by using the resources that C.V. has made available, including the weekly Parsha lessons. These lessons well appear week-by-week on our site and on various platforms as well. With these helps you can reach out and make disciples for Messiah Yeshua beginning in the comfort of your own space. In this way you would be honoring what is written: “...go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-2

         # 4  Prepare Disciples for the Challenging Days Ahead      1.5 Minute

Keep in mind, ye contender for Torah-rooted truth--that making disciples for Yeshua is a noble, much needed serious work in our nations and throughout the earth. Therefore, I once again encourage readers to consider starting a Home College class in their houses, with family members perhaps, or with interested, trusted friends. Provide them with a tuition-free registration, syllabus, lesson materials (they can purchase these from Amazon when necessary or download them), and time frames with breaks in between. This enterprise is not "church planting" but rather a "doable" means of systematically educating believers in the original apostolic, Nazarene, Book of Acts faith. Oh yes! Plan for fellowship and occasional "fun" events for your students. Encourage them to repent, fast and pray. And you will do well.

Goal

         Reach the Generations    1 Minute

Finally, reach out to the younger generation and draw them in to become students along with the older people. House study groups are beneficial in several ways and should be multi-generational. Your home can become a fledgling Institute operating with quarters or short term semesters to meet the need of enrollees. Faithful service as a disciple of Yeshua is commandment we are expected to fulfill. Remember, His favor is your measure and becoming a friend of the King is your destiny. Therefore, abide in His truth, push back the infernal darkness--give it no space at all,  welcome the light of His truth, and rise as a genuine overcomer. Further, promote the work of the Great Commission (Mt. 28:19-20). Believe, be repentant, remain spiritually clean, and honor Him with your entire life. "He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne" (Rev. 3:21).

Part 3: Emphasis

Contender’s Voice Eber School

Reason for Being: To assist Believers—those who are (a) hearing the Spirit's call to return to their Hebraic heritage and identity, and (b) wanting to study the full counsel of God--to learn and experience the following:

1. Revelation of the Father's Love (John 3:16; 1 John 4:10-16).

2. Personal and corporate intimacy with Yeshua (John 10:14; 21:15-17; Eph. 1:17; Phil. 3:10; 2 John 1:6).

3. Communion with the Fullness of the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:15, 41; Acts 4:31; 9:17; 2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 5:18).

4. Basic understanding of the Torah—its importance and application, and of the Old and the New Covenants in light of the Torah (Deut. 5:1; 6:4-12; Mt. 5:19; 11:29; 1 Thess. 4:4).

5. Growth in the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22).

6. Divine supernatural ministry (Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; 12:1-31; 14:1-12; Heb. 2:4).

7. Sanctification and greater consecration (John 17:9; Acts 20:32; 1 Cor. 6:11, etc.).

8. Encounters with the manifest presence and glory of Yeshua (Mt. 17:2).

9. Personal transformation. Taking up the cross, dying to self, rejecting false religion, imitating Yeshua, and moving forward into resurrection life (See in order: Phil. 3:10; Mt. 10:38; 16:24; Lk.  14:27; Col. 2 and 3).

10. Preparation (a) of the House of Israel/Ephraim in its return to its Hebraic heritage and its alignment with YHVH’s times and seasons (Isa. 35:10; Ezek. 37:15-28;  Hosea 14:1; Zech. 10:6-9); (b) of the Body of Messiah in general for discerning the deception which will be increasing upon the earth (Gen. 6:1-4; Lk. 17:26; 2 Th. 2:9; 2 Jn. 7Rev. 20:3, 8; 18:23; 19:20; 20:10), and (c) of returning Believers to become sanctified and strengthened to stand in the increasing tribulation which is coming upon the earth (Mt. 24).

School courses will require commitment and determination to complete. Of course, we realize the disciples of Yeshua are no strangers to persistent effort. He spoke concerning Believers who consider moving forward in the knowledge and experience of the kingdom, power, and glory of Elohim: "...the violent [hungry, thirsty, determined] take it [grow in the Spirit and Truth of the Kingdom] by force [determined, persistent effort]" (Mt. 11:12).  Learn: The spiritually hungry and thirsty will be filled!

School material is designed to assist followers of Messiah Yeshua--through study, prayer, and worship disciplines--to return to and mature in the knowledge and experience of the kingdom, power, and glory of the Elohim of Israel. Our current one-year course—with its required texts--is based upon the yearly Torah reading cycle. Parsha Commentary Course’s weekly lessons are particularly planned to help those who desire (a) to be instructed/led directly in parsha study, in prayer, and in praise and worship by the Holy Spirit, and (b) to hear, discern, and respond appropriately to His word/voice in whatever form it may take. We are living in the exciting hour of the restoration of Ruach [Spirit] and Emet [truth] to all Israel. It is therefore very important for Believers to develop not only their knowledge but their spiritual senses (see Hebrews 5:14) in order to know the voice and word of the Almighty personally. It is the opportune/kairos time to become exercised in Emet and Ruach, and thereby participate more effectually (and joyfully) in the fulfillment of restoration and reconciliation prophecies that are now unfolding. Hence, our education and experience emphasis at Eber School is with both the Emet [truth]and Ruach [Spirit].

Because of this, you will find in the year-long Torah reading course a continual encouragement, accompanied by reminders, on the importance of hearing and being consciously led by the Ruach HaKodesh. "For all who are led by the Spirit [who have come to be regularly, consistently, habitually yielded], these are the [mature, most effectual] sons of God" (Rom. 8:14). Keep in mind, the Ruach HaKodesh is intended to be the primary Teacher of our parsha commentary course, and Administrator of the school.

The school's Parsha Commentary Course is described on the next page.

Eber School enrollment fee for each of the five sections of our course, Torah Commentary Course. The cost will be posted. It is paid through Paypal, where the student’s information is given. Once enrolled, the subscribed section will be opened on our BTL site and the student may begin his/her work. Home College. We encourage readers and students to contact one another, and, where possible, to meet together in small groups and fellowship, and worship and study around a table. At the class table there is room for three necessary components that will combine to provide complete success to our education experience: First. Zealous, spiritually hungry disciples around the table. Secondly. The Torah (Bible) on the table. Thirdly. The glory Cloud above the table. May the same tangible anointing that comes and rests upon us when we worship also be strongly in our midst, in a manifest and noticeable manner, when we are at the table and sharing the Word.

Point 4: Curriculum

Fundamental Parsha-based Commentary Courses

                       1.  Torah Commentary Course-One year. 2. Torah Discipleship Course-One Year; 3. Bible survey-One year.

Courses description: One year in length. The fifty-four parshas of the traditional yearly parsha reading schedule comprise the lessons for the Torah-based courses. The school's parsha courses are similar in orientation but they are notably different in emphasis. They each consists of five sections, or parts. They are the five books of the Torah:

Part 1: Genesis/B'resheet

Part 2: Exodus/Shemot

Part 3: Leviticus/Vayiqra

Part 4: Numbers/Bamidbar; and

Part 5: Deuteronomy/Devarim

Each lesson in the five sections [Torah Books] consists of five basic parts, and seven questions

A. Introduction to the Word which includes instruction on the Hebrew Alef-Bet letters, and exhortation from Psalm 119.

B.  The Torah Commentary, relating the Scriptures to Yeshua, and instruction on the Holy Spirit.

C. Seven challenging questions require students to rely upon the help of theHoly Spirit and listen for the word of Elohim.

D. Prayer and Blessing the Land; Song of the LORD.

E. Conclusion. Answers to the questions should be written weekly. They should be thorough, but not long They should be sent into Contender's Voice for review and credit. However, answering the questions is ultimately for the student’s own benefit. “Be diligent to study…”

F. Focus on the area or the question(s) from which the Holy Spirit is speaking and providing greater insight and understanding.

3. Contender's Voice Eber School Course Method.

"...search for Me..." (Jeremiah 29:13). Section Number Three of each parsha lesson—Questions and Listening to the Almighty’s Voice--is especially provided to encourage the student to read beyond the basic commentary that we have presented, and study the Scriptures in the week's parsha for themselves. As each reader presses more deeply into the Word and learns to depend more consistently on the Spirit in his/her search for greater knowledge and intimacy with Yeshua, increased personal enrichment and spiritual transformation will be experienced and enjoyed. Section 3 of each lesson contains a review of the weekly parsha's Scriptures, their topical content, and our seven questions. Working with each week's Scriptures and Questions are both very important to our purpose. They are designed to assist the student to (1) develop a vision for the restoration and reconciliation of the whole house of Israel, (2) grow in foundational knowledge of the Torah, (3) recover the principles, practice, and Holy Spirit power of the early, first-century NazarenBelievers, and thereby (4) experience and enjoy greater dimensions of the kingdom, power, and glory of Yeshua.

The assigned Scriptures and Questions, along with Section Four's Prayer and Blessing activities, comprise (5) the heart of the Torah and Glory School's study program by which the student can be most edified and advanced spiritually. By (a) waiting upon the voice of the Spirit to help with answers [Section 3], and (b) participating in the prayer, declaration, and blessing activities [of lesson Section 4] the student learns on his/her own while depending on, and thereby coming to know more personally, the Holy Spirit. We strongly encourage each student to rely upon the Spirit/Ruach--for understanding, revelation, insight, illumination of the Word, edification, and divine fellowship--during prayer, worship, and study. He is the close-at-hand primary Teacher of the course, not this author.

4. Learning the Almighty's voice and experiencing His manifest glory, and not just acquiring more information, are central goals of the Eber School.] In this way, the Scriptures--reading them while listening for the Holy Spirit, and the Questions--writing answers while under the Spirit's unction and receiving divine input, and the verbal Blessing—prayer and declaration under holy inspiration, work together to comprise (6) the student's chief means of personal practice/exercise/training in seeking, waiting on, listening for, and promptly responding to the voice/word/inspiration of Elohim. And by such seeking, faith-motivated students position themselves—that is, they spiritually, mentally, and emotionally prepare themselves--for experiencing a visitation of Yeshua's presence and glory through the Spirit. In this way the Questions and Blessing Activity also become (7) the channels through which the

Part 5: Seven Questions

Seven challenging questions conclude each Parsha Commentary Course Lesson.  These questions in each lesson are a very  important aspect of the student’s learning and growth in messianic character. Though they are the same week to week, the answers will be different as the student proceeds. All devoted readers are strongly encouraged to take the time and include answering them in their study discipline. They are intended to coax the student to rely upon interaction with the Holy Spirit, discern His voice, receive insight, and obtain helpful answers and develop prophetic vision..

This process will assist each learner to:

A. (1) Develop a vision for the restoration and reconciliation of the whole house of Israel, (2) grow in foundational knowledge of the Torah, (3) recover the principles, practice, and Holy Spirit power of the early, first-century Nazarene believers, and  (4) experience and enjoy greater dimensions of the kingdom, power, and glory of Yeshua. Note: The questions are listed at the end of each lesson, but are mentioned here in the Introduction only. Read the questions after finishing each lesson, be sure to answer them on paper or on  line..

B. Questions are repeated but the answers will differ from week to week. Here they are:

1. In your opinion, what is the main teaching of each of the listed readings individually: the Torah, the Haftorah, and the Brit Chadashah?

2.  What is the common, central idea, or subject, that runs through and unites all the individual readings, as you see it?

3. Find in the Gospels where and how Yeshua declares, demonstrates, exemplifies, or exhibits the parsha's central truth, and explain. Give chapter and verse.

4. In what way is the glory of YHVH [manifestations of His goodness] revealed in the parsha lesson?  [Pray: Let me perceive Your glory in the reading.]

5. What does the parsha teach you/show you about your Hebrew roots ; your identity, your destiny, your duty? [Ask YHVH: What are You telling me about my heritage and calling?]

6. In what way did the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh personally speak to you during prayer and study this week? Did He impress you about how to apply the parsha lesson directly to your life? Explain.

7. "...because of practice [by reason of use] have their senses trained [exercised] to discern..."  You and I are called to return to hearing the voice of Elohim and to functioning in the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Progressing in these vital areas will require spiritual hunger, faith, and practice. He is waiting for us to approach Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak into your spirit/heart as you pray each day. Look for opportunities to lay hands on the sick, or to be used in prophesy. Faithfully record the prophetic words and experiences you receive, and be sure to share them with your brethren. Report your progress.

It is helpful to share your answers, insights, and revelations with your study group (table class). This is why we recommend meeting regularly in a small group. Such activity allows for healthy interaction and exchange, and militates against fatigue and stagnation. Practice operating with your spiritual gifts under the anointing of the Holy Spirit while among your friendly, supportive peers. Allow for open participation in leading praise and worship. Give altar calls at your table for healing, refreshing, and prophetic words. These are effective ways for all present to mature in their calling and gifting. The non-threatening small group provides a favorable and encouraging environment in which to learn the ministry of the Spirit and discuss the Torah.
